Exactly. You wouldn't see an empty fridge as sign you'd eaten everything you wanted to and could now turn to other matters. Restocking it would be a fairly urgent job that needed doing wouldn't it? Just so with a to read pile.

Would you walk away with a sense of accomplishment at a job well done, a task completed, a checkbox ticked? All the books you wanted to read having now been read.
Or would you immediately replenish the pile with more books? The pile is not meant to be completed, reading should be a life long joy.

He was the first. Almost by definition everything that followed should be an improvement on that. Almost everyone who sings Troughton's praises talks about how if he had failed we wouldn't be here talking about it.

I suppose you could say that about Doctor Who in general but...a silly sci fi show ostenisbly for children has no business going as hard as it frequently does even in this early stage.
