I'm a bit of a chaos gremlin, but this account is mostly going to be for my writing stuff. My Instagram is focused on my other art - crochet, art, pens, etc.
I DID IT 🎉 My first draft is officially complete! It's a dual POV fantasy story that currently clocks in around 139k words. There is a lot to edit (I'm fully changing one POV character 🤪), but I'm SO happy to say I've officially completed the first version of this story. ❤️

Can anyone point me in the right direction for a good place to start learning embroidery? I learned crochet via Woobles and really enjoyed it, and I really want to learn embroidery. I just have no idea where to start. I tried one of the cheap kits at Michaels but it wasn't great. #embroidery

Finally finished a major edit. I had to go back and change a plot point in the beginning of my manuscript so I had to fix about half my book 😅 But even with cutting chunks, I ended up about 5300 words ahead of where I started! Time to write these last few chapters 💪🏻 #writing

Today's word count. It's still my first draft, and I still have a half dozen more chapters to write. Even cutting a lot from previous chapters, I've added just over 3k words during this large edit. I'm proud of how much I've written in the past year and a half. Approaching 120k slowly but surely.

I started a new show, and I love how it started from a storytelling perspective. All the characters backgrounds are quickly introduced by the foods they bring to a funeral. In less than 5 minutes everyone's lives are firmly established and it feels natural. I really appreciate how it was crafted.

I decided to change a major plot point as I got close to the end of my first draft. I just got to editing my fourth chapter it directly affects after a couple weeks. Only eight more chapters of rewriting after this. Then maybe I can finish the draft 🥲 Wish me luck.

I'm a pantser and can only outline chunks at a time. If I do more I end up deleting a lot of it anyway. Well, I've officially outlined to the end of my book 🥹 Just a few chapters left to get on the page. #writingcommunity

I'm almost 104k words into my first draft. The capital city for my dwarves, where a chunk of the book takes place, is still just called "Capital." Editing me will figure it out, I'm sure 😂 #writingcommunity

I wasn't sure I'd even get to 90k at the start of the year, and now I'm closing out 2024 with over 100k words written. 🥹 #writer #firstdraft

A reminder to myself that a first draft's only job is to exist. Even if it means existing with "[add feelings of lack of safety due to dragons]" for now. That's the second draft's problem 😂 #writingcommunity #amwriting

Writing 300 words is a magical threshold for me. It's my daily word goal. Around 270 I start to wonder what else to write but keep pushing. Next thing I know I've written 500-600 words. I love having an attainable goal that pushes me just hard enough to keep doing more. #writingconmunity

I'm getting into the final act of my manuscript. My chapters are getting shorter because I'm impatient to reward myself with FINALLY writing the chapter that inspired the whole book. 😂 Wish my editing future self luck fixing this mess. #writingcommunity

I'm about 30 chapters (~92k words) into my first draft. I just did a rough outline through the end of my book. If I keep on track, I only have 10-11 chapters left before I officially finish my first manuscript!
