The first time I ran DnD 5e as the DM I had never played the game before, nor read most the rules.
My veteran DnD players fell in love with that campaign because of the level of creativity.
After a few years, we realized we weren't even playing DnD anymore. So I crafted my own system from there.

Certain pieces of media always strike inspiration in me. For example, I can open a game called Blasphemous and get inspired within a few moments again.
If that doesn't work, I pivot to writing or coding briefly till I get the inspiration back.

BLAME! is so unbelievably good but I really think more people should check out BIOMEGA and APOSIMZ.
Im planning on reading Knights of Sidonia soon, but my favorite def lies in BLAME!. Its atmosphere is unbeatable.
