An irony, and I would strenuously debate that most Republicans are Christians at all.
They are focused on the oldest version of Yaweh, who was a jealous god of storms and war, who had more in common with Thor than Jesus. Ask a Republican to say the Beatitudes, and few will be able to do so.

If McConnell had done his job and impeached Trump during his first term, we wouldn't be suffering the fallout of Trump's senile dementia, Musk's Ketamine addiction, a corrupt Supreme Court, and a spineless Congress. Now we may have to tear it all down and rebuild it from the grass roots up.

Judges are restraining Trump's naked efforts to become royalty. They are doing their job, unlike Congress. If our judges start "falling from windows", we will need to act. Trump doesn't get that he survives only by virtue of these judges and the hope of justice. Kings are America's favorite food.

It's a dilemma. Resistance is crucial, but may be punished if we fail to depose this wannabe king before he even ascends his throne. The thing is, we're all going to reeducation camps if he wins- and North Korea, China, Russia, Myanmar and a plethora of others have shown us what that looks like.

Who wants to go for a cruise? There are norovirus vaccines being researched, with some in phase 3 testing. Ironically for Kennedy, this policy will enrich companies he hates. Cruise prices will also drop, and what's really cool is that you won't have to deal with antivaxxers on your vacations. Yay!

This showcases the problem with hating education, disparaging the educated and insisting that opinion equals fact. Reality prevails whether you believe in it or not. But he's unwaveringly faithful. He knows heaven is coming, and that he'll never need to vote again. The god-king will provide forever.

She's a coward and a disgrace. No wonder she's incapable of taking the heat- she represents the rich, and doesn't even know what her actual constituents want.

Corruption is reaching new heights as an unfettered oligarchy buys stables of politicians willing to legislate their future of choice. Corporate sponsorship badges should be mandatory- but that would be telling.

I have a hammer and I'm not afraid to use it. It won't be pretty, it won't be easy, and it won't happen overnight- but anything we can build, we can also destroy. We have simply forgotten that we own our government, because anyone who can destroy a thing controls it. We eat kings for lunch here.
April 5, 2025 at 4:26 PM
We aren't going to have a tyrant, but quite possibly a revolution or a civil war. No one I know is ready to bend over for a new king- we barely tolerated an oligarchy, but royalty crosses a line that was drawn deeply in blood in this country, no less than in France. Kings are prey here.

Add "probable pedophile". Many of the people who elected Trump did so because he hated the people they hate- but they failed to understand that Trump loves only himself, and regards everything else, including them, as his lawful prey and as his expendable assets. They're learning that the hard way.

Privatization is their goal- because the volatility of the marketplace would offer them the opportunity to steal it. Try to touch my social security, and you'll be lucky to pull back bleeding stumps where your hands used to be. It's not a third rail, it's a log chipper. Hands off.

This is the chief peril of growing old: we have to endure watching all of our icons vanishing one by one like stars at sunrise. They live on in memory, but it's just not the same. When those of us who loved them are gone too, only those we have exposed to them will even know they ever existed.

It's a very strange thing; if you listen to his words, Trump is a liar- but if you follow what he actually does, he's been remarkably transparent and consistent. He's a classic malignant narcissist, and behaves accordingly. He's literally incapable of empathy, and serves himself before all others.

Trailer park residents across America: "God-King Trump, please hurt the people who hurt us, and reduce our cost of living- we're dying out here!" Trump: "That was always the plan. I'm going to hurt everyone but the richest. Hurry up and starve."

Complicit is a pretty weak term for people appointed (at least putatively) to be a check against tyranny- a central bastion for continuity of a system of government by the people and for the people. Sadly, most Americans are not people anymore, but liabilities- and "Justice" is a term of dark irony.

Where is the mainstream coverage of this travesty? Oh, that's right: everyone is owned or scared.

There are signs that Musk's little bodyguard is getting a little tired of the role.

As someone once in the military with a secret security clearance during that period, I can say with complete confidence and authority that the Signal chat violated security. There are several official encryption systems available for that kind of information, and Vance should be prosecuted.

No one seems to get something central to understanding the Republican Party and those who vote for them: ethics don't matter. Morality is conditional- it only matters if it happens to them. Charity for anyone beyond the ranks of the chosen few is wasted. We aren't people to them- we are lawful prey.
March 29, 2025 at 5:02 PM
It's not so much that Trump doesn't care- it's more along the lines of senile dementia in combination with malignant narcissism. All I can say is that the farmers who voted for Trump now have the leadership they deserve- but they took everyone else off the cliff with them.
