My current read & my next read
I give Cultish a solid 7/10. It's a good foundation text, and Montell is an engaging writer. I do find that some of the arguments and assertions wander into supposition territory. The heavy focus on insular, popular cults did add a baggage that bogs down applications

My son and I love using our lil Focus Bean 🫘 💜
Now...my son does use it to sit and stare at the bean (now kitt-ney bean) while it knits sooo not the point, but it helps him regulate!
He also loves decorating the room. I'm currently re-acquiring decor after his last demo 😂

Real therapeutic talk: growing up in a cult makes present day events cause all kinds of stress responses, even after 10+ years being out. End of the word, etc etc
So, I craft. Creating things helps regulate a mind and body. It also gives me something to do tomorrow, and look forward to tomorrow

Two good things happened last week: my sister gave me her old deep freezer! and my lil laddie cut down the rhubarb with me.
We now have 8 cups of rhubarb and one Englishman who is making the 🥹 face for rhubarb and custard...
(My sister got the other 8 cups of rhubarb. It was A LOT)

It blows my mind that I can take a picture with my phone, at night, in low light, and capture at least a few STARS
I spent most of my teens and twenties shooting photos on one of these bad bois and a friggin Motorola RAZR. Sometimes I just look at my phone photos in awe.
