52 - Hole in the Sky by Daniel H Wilson. I really enjoyed this sci-fi book combining a first contact scenario with Native American and indigenous peoples’ mythologies. And with this book I’ve reached my arbitrary book goal for the year!

51 - Broken Country by Clare Leslie Hall. Mystery, drama, love triangle - a little bit of everything in this book.

Timeline Cleanse. Take a moment to reset from the scrolling with these two nuts, who look like they were caught in an intimate moment.

Mountain meadows and wildflowers - specifically fireweed here - are definitely among my favorite things.

Moose! It’s always a thrill to look out and see moose in the yard. (Picture taken from a safe distance.)

This little wetland pond is in one of my favorite places to walk my dog. Love how it was like a mirror this day.

We sadly knew this would be the ACIP vote, but still feeling down. Offering up a little #TimelineCleanse to counter the news just a little.

50 - Hamnet by Maggie O'Farrell. I've resisted reading this book because of the first book cover (not shown), which really turned me off, and I regret it. This was a gorgeous, beautifully written, heartbreaking book. The movie has a lot to live up to.

49 - The Briar Book of the Dead by AG Slatter. An enjoyable fantasy.

48 - The Immeasurable Heavens by Caspar Geon. Jam packed full of ideas about what constitutes life and the universe. I've been in a bit of a reading slump and skimmed more than I should. I might have to reread one day too pick up the details I missed.

47 - Violet Thistlewhite Is Not a Villain Anymore by Emily Krempholz. A cozy fantasy that was a little too marshmallowy sweet for me. I need more witty repartee and/or snark in my cozy reads. Wildly popular, though, so it's scratching someone's itch!

Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone. The color of the water indicates the water temperature as certain bacteria grow in the different temps. The warm orange bacterial mats grow in the relatively cool runoff water.

We cut our Christmas tree today, and the difference between this year and every other year was stark…with pretty much NO snow on the ground this year. 😩 This year vs last year (same road).

I hear it’s predicted to be a snowy winter here, but it’s getting a really late start!
