I have never had a problem before, but saw damage like this on the roofs 4 of my nucs last week. I think woody must be standing on the blocks, and feeling peckish. I must say I'm seeing more woodpeckers than usual at the moment.

I use beehivemonitoring's kit on 2 of my hives. I learn a lot from the data. Not sure about your sensor placement, but if in/above the cluster/brood area, you'll hit a point soon when humidity falls towards 60% and temp rises towards 35°... Meaning the brood factory is firing up.

Nice reflection, and I'm pretty aligned with Steve's thoughts and experiences. However, if you plan to try TF, alongside treating, it should be done on a whole apiary basis (don't mix and match within one apiary) 👍

It is indeed... lovingly crafted from some rough-sawn offcuts of local cedar I picked up during COVID lockdown 1. I did start a related blog wymeswoldhoney.co.uk/index.php/ou... ... Love my Warre. You getting on well with yours ? Do you keep bees on other formats too ?

Don't use miticides, so comb goes in solar wax melter (surprisingly effective IMHO), resultant waste in compost heap. Frames broken up as firelighters.
