Unfortunately as I understand it that UK is going through something similar to us. The Heritage Foundation has been shopping around Project 2025 to other countries as well and England is no exception. Lord knows the liberal government isn't doing much to endear itself right now.

This feels like a very performative measure from four Republicans who can then go back and be like, "I stood up to Trump even though I knew my resistance meant nothing"

Don't get too excited. As I understand this, now it goes to the house. Where, even if it passes, it will absolutely be vetoed when it hits his desk. Then it will go back and it will need a two-thirds majority in both houses, which it will not get.

The religious fundamentalists, in my opinion the scariest ones, want to see this country return to some sort of idea of what they think the past was like. They truly believe that their entire purpose on earth is to spread their hateful beliefs across the globe

Sucks that my anxiety then spirals to such a level that it feels like I'm in an abusive relationship with myself.
