Since F1 travels so much for events, unless they travel in a much more emission friendly way. I don't think it will happen.

That's crazy that F1 has the goal of a net zero by 2030, it seems like a great goal to aim for. I find it hard to believe that it will be achieved considering that 45% of there emissions are caused by logistics and an additional 27.7% from business travel. greenracingnews.com/formula-1s-c...

I remember watching the game live and once trump starting calling the game, he just seemed like he didn't really know what was going on. Even though he stated that he is doing lots for the new stadium for the Commanders, he doesn't know much about the team for which the stadium is for.

That's crazy to think that even at the college level were they receive more coverage than professional women's basketball. There is still a lack of coverage.

That's crazy to think that coach's can have that much persuasion on athletes off the field. Considering former athletes are coming forward I can along imagine there were more cases.

he definitely shows that an athlete may not have to conform to normal deviances and can go against the grain.

What was crazy that he got a full year of suspension, where as Deshaun Watson had alleged 24 sexual assault allegations and he only got a 6 game suspension.

An example of when government intervention in sports was when the U.S. government funds and directs miltary-themed displays in major sports leagues (e.g., NFL “Salute to Service”), turning sport into a stage for nationalism and militarism. This could be seen as reinforcing a dominant ideology.
Report: Defense Dept. paid NFL millions of taxpayer dollars to salute troops
The U.S. Department of Defense paid the NFL more than $5 million in taxpayer money between 2011 to 2014 to honor U.S. soldiers and veterans at games, an investigation revealed this week. But instead o...

Curling’s broadcast style enhances the aura of naturalness because the sport is visually and structurally well-suited to television.
November 24, 2025 at 4:59 AM
Broadcasts make it so much easier for viewers to see every single angle, overhead shots, and cut lots of dead time that the viewer may not need to see. This could be related to the "aura of naturalness" in which the broadcast may make you feel that you are "inside the game" when a lot may be cut.

I personally love watching curling, regardless of it being in person or on my TV. There has been a significant drop in attendance for in-person events. Unlike other sports, curling is very dependent on being able to see different angles for shots. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

It is also important to note that in MMA it nearly impossible to prevent eye-poke's because all fighters need to be able to have there hand's exposed.

The fight was ruled a no-contest; it showed "borderline violence" - a rule-breaking yet tolerated act seen as part of MMA's pro-aggressive culture and behaviors.

That's interesting that the average injury caused by defense wasn't higher than the average, it possibly made it harder to prove that the team had bounties going on.

I remember that series very vividly, KD going down was a big part of Toronto winning the championship that year. he beat the odds when he returned from injury, he didn't drop in any major stat category. Which is unusual seeing as after a Achilles tendon related injury, the athlete is never the same.
