SPC issues Day 1 SLIGHT RISK for East Central Florida, all hazards are possible. The slight risk is driven by a 15% wind risk, and includes a 2% tor and 5% hail risk.

SPC issues Day 3 Marginal Risk for East Central and North Florida, including Jacksonville, Gainesville, Tallahassee, Palm Coast, and Daytona Beach.

Additionally, a Day 1 and Day 2 Marginal Risk are in place for East Central and North Florida. A Day 1 SLIGHT RISK is in place for Jacksonville.

An area of development, Invest 93L, has formed today and became Tropical Depression Seven. It is forecasted to become a Tropical Storm by today at 8 PM. It currently poses no risk to land.

Thunderstorms have the potential to develop across Central Florida today, and a few of the thunderstorms may be strong. As usual, gusty winds, frequent CGs, and torrential rainfall remain the primary threats.

Update to previous statement...potential for marginal severe weather exists. Conditions are somewhat favorable for the development of supercells but is not likely.

A Moderate potential for Supercell development exists for portions of Central Florida through the times of 6 and 7pm. Strongest potentials exist further north, along the panhandle.

Tropical Storm Francine has been downgraded from a predicted Category 2 hurricane to a Category 1 hurricane. At landfall, it is estimated to have wind speeds of 85 MPH and gusts up to 105 MPH. Francine is currently headed Northeast.

Invest 92L is now less likely to develop. Another area of development, however, has a 40% chance of development over the next 48 hours and an 80% chance over the next 7 days. No designation or model is yet available for this area.

Tropical Storm Francine is now forecasted to become a Category 1 Hurricane around Tuesday, 8 PM. Wind speeds are expected to be around 75 MPH with gusts around 90 MPH.

PTC Six has officially been named by the NHC. Tropical Storm Francine is expected to hit Louisiana as a Cat 1 Hurricane Wednesday. Hurricane and Tropical Storm watches have been issued ahead of the storm.
