I think the majority of the nasty stuff stays east of the metro area today...however, showers/storms will stick around into tonight. Could have a rumble of thunder as late as 8 or 9p.

Large hail threat mainly east of Fort Morgan.

Most likely a low/no impact event tonight from Denver on west…better odds east/south of Denver:

🌇 Tonight's our first 5:30pm sunset of 2025, Denver! Sure you won't be able to see it, but hey, it's a start!

We won't have a sunset before 5:30p until November 2nd.

Exceptionally cool sounding in Denver this morning - temps spike by 20-30° barely a thousand feet above the surface!

Extremely shallow Arctic cold air mass. We'll mix this out quickly with some strong winds tomorrow.

Modeling right now with 0-6" of snow in Denver tomorrow AM.

Most likely: the heavy snow stays just east of Denver, with a low/no impact event for most.

However, it wouldn't take much of a westward nudge for us to get a good one.

This is a LOW CONFIDENCE forecast!

☀️ Another sunny and mild day for late January standards, with a high near 50° in Denver with light winds. This'll help melt off more of our snow!

🌨️ Similar tomorrow before snow showers likely return for Thursday morning, though most areas won't see much accumulation.

Modeling ticking north on our next low, meaning some slushy snow is likely on the Palmer Divide on south and east on Thursday morning.

Still questions for the Denver area, but still leaning towards a low impact event for most of the metro area (maybe some slush Thu. AM).
