#NYTSpellingBee - You've obviously not met my English in-laws.

A bit bigger crowd at Boise NoKings than previous ones - but had to compete with a home Boise State Football game nearby, so that might have cut down on attendance. Still a great showing in a deep red state. And some great signs

I'm actually happy that #NYTSpellingBee didn't rewind to 2009 and accept this word.

Still good autumn color at Mores Mountain. But likely the last day, with likely snow up here over the weekend. #IdahoEscape

Sort of sad to see some of the new stumps of large Douglas Fir trees right along the trail and close to the Stack Rock trailhead in Boise National Forest, as part of the Deer Point Forest Restoration project this summer. Yes, I know it will be good in the long run, but the "look" has changed a bit.

Those charts are awesome, though, for conveying seasonal variations - such as this one for Phoenix, AZ - which shows the "southwest monsoon season" very clearly.

Get a kick out of the NWS obs and Hazard display leaflet implementation, which at certain zoom levels gets really REALLY insistent on giving you elevations on 'peaks'. #cartography

Seems like the week of peak coneflower bloom here in southwest Idaho. Send rain. Please.

Even so-called red-state Idaho can fill stadiums with 12K people willing to stand up for REAL American values, and against the lawless, unconstitutional, Trump administration. #FightOligarchy

Proud to support #NationalParkService - America's Best Idea. Even if the current administration seems to value only things that 'bring in money'. This is Kings Creek Falls in Lassen Volcanic National Park in Sept 23

Chuckle. A little Kelvin-Helmholtz action at sunset in Boise ID today. No time to compose a better shot in fading light, and on the way back from the grocery store - so through the car window with the phone camera - but, oh well! #idwx #khwaves
