🫖 A cozy game. A powerful message. A sword laid down.

Wanderstop surprised me. It’s not just tea and trees—it’s a digital sermon on burnout, healing, and Jesus’ words: “The Sabbath was made for you.”

Not all critiques of digital church are created equal.

Brad East may not mean to say “no” to digital people—but in his critique of The Hybrid Congregation, that’s exactly what’s being said.

My latest blog responds—not just to defend online ministry, but to advocate for those it actually serves.

Sakura: “I don’t need anyone.”
Jesus: “There’s no greater love than laying down your life for your friends.”

Wind Breaker Ep17 just preached a better sermon than most pulpits.
Anime + Grace = 🧠❤️

The world is our parish—not our project. 🌎💻

Let’s stop treating digital ministry as a tool for our growth and start seeing it as a space where God is already at work.

I didn’t facilitate the building of a digital church by being perfect.
I built it by hitting “publish” even when it wasn't perfect.

Here’s what 36 hours of Nerdy Sermons taught me about showing up, failing forward, and the sacred gift of consistency.

I supported our nerdy sermons at a Tier 3 level because I believe in this mission to share the love of God with all the nerds, geeks, and gamers that I can. I hope you'll consider backing this upcoming season and helping us reach more than any season before. igg.me/at/nerdyserm...

Some may have missed it yesterday if they didn't click the article, but I put action to my words. Here is some social media education for you to use to begin a conversation with your kids (or, heck, just to learn something for your own well-being).

I hope this resource proves useful!

Day 6 | Live

I think Vash's words stand on their own here. As the prophet Jeremiah prophesies a place where the people might live in safety, it's hard not to think of Vash's dream. A dream of peace and sacred holy living--a place called Paradise.

Day 5 | Righteous

Soichiro Yagami is a good cop, but maybe not the best father. Despite Light developing a twisted scope of justice, Soichiro proves he has a strong moral will in his word and deed. (Cont'd)

I really enjoyed this movie, even when I didn't so much like it. The writing was unlike anything I've heard in a long while and I found the meandering chemistry between the two leads delightfully natural. I'd honestly watch those two live daily lives for a few more movies.

Day 3 | Time

Considering the words of Jeremiah and the fated time ahead, I can't help but think of Gaebora from Ocarina of Time. This owl kicks off our journey through Hyrule and, eventually, through time.

Day 2 | Fulfill

Final Fantasy X is a story about fulfilling prophecies--and the danger of corrupted prophecies. I could have chosen Yuna and her story of fulfilling her destiny. But Auron has a promise of his own to fulfill.

Day 1 | Promise

Kaori is my nerdy pick for this day of Advent. This is a show about honoring the time we have together and the lives of those who have shaped us.

May we live each day in the anticipation of moments to be shared together.
