I printed my terrain for the excellent Tabletop wargaming rule set "Strength & Honour" with a 3D printer - except for these fields, which I crafted myself from fabric scraps, pipe cleaners, and Greenstuff. #strengthandhonour #2mm #wargaming

Because Venice is my favorite city, I have a late medieval DBMM army "Italian Condotta: Venetian" (Book IV/61). The Venetians were the first army I painted myself. The 15mm figures are from the Italian manufacturer Mirliton, and the flags are from "Pete's Flags". #dbmm #venice #15mm #wargaming

3/3 The miniatures are from "Studio Historia" and are excellently sculpted! I will begin with two units of Heavy Infantry (in Lion Rampant terminology), which I have already undercoated and are ready for painting. I hope to be able to complete the entire project in the first half of 2026.

2/3 Again, it has a connection to #Frankfurt, which appears in the sources as "Franconofurd" - a ford on the Main river, conveniently situated at the crossroads of key routes. Under the Carolingians it gained importance as an assembly and residence site. (Picture: © Archäologisches Museum Frankfurt)

1/3 At the end of the year 🎄 I am starting a new project for the tabletop ruleset "Lion Rampant": a Carolingian warband in 28 mm from the era of Charlemagne, specifically the Saxon Wars from roughly 772 to 804. #lionrampant #charlemagne #wargaming

Finished "Congress of Vienna" with three mates on Sunday. It was a tight diplomatic and military struggle: the Allies didn't take Paris, but France ended up last. I was second-to-last with Russia - hard to play and resource-starved. The game is tremendous fun! #boardgames #gmtgames #congressofvienna

I am supplementing my DBMM army "Late Imperial Roman" with elements that are not included in the official army list. The self-built ensemble shown here is a "Labarum," a late antique banner standard that, according to the historian Eusebius, was introduced by Constantine. #dbmm #15mm #wargaming

2/2 It was a bloody, costly battle: the Roman left collapsed, but the centre held against marauding war elephants, and fierce fighting raged on the right! The armies' morale values fell almost in unison, and in the end, the Romans narrowly managed to secure a narrow victory by morale 1 : morale 0.

1/2 In May 2025 I played Romans vs Carthaginians with my gaming mate Jan at the Rhein-Main Tabletop Club, using the "Age of Hannibal" ruleset. I commanded the Romans, he led the Carthaginians. Each army consisted of 1200 points and was made up of 15mm figures. #ageofhannibal #littlewarstv #wargaming

7/8 The figures lie in the foam-padded cardboard cases. I am very satisfied with the quality of these Egyptians!

6/8 The fully painted army is returned in a large box, inside of which are many small foam-padded cardboard cases, sorted by troop type. Here are the "New Kingdom Egyptians" for DBMM.

4/8 The Paintingservice sends photos for approval - here are figures of the DBMM "Polybian Roman" army from the front...

3/8 Here is an overview sheet in close-up.

2/8 I create an overview sheet in DIN A4 for each type of figure, which contains enlarged photos of the example figures in front and back views. I also add any additional notes regarding the respective figure if necessary.

In my late medieval Frankfurt militia in 28mm for Lion Rampant, the mercenaries (Elite Cavalry) and patricians (Heavy Cavalry) have individual coats of arms and symbols that are based on original historical models. #28mm #lionrampant #frankfurt #wargaming

I’ve crafted a few forests for the “By Fire and Sword” ruleset. We’re playing on Saturday - my Brandenburgers versus the Habsburgs! #15mm #wargaming #byfireandsword

My Early Byzantine DBMM army (Book III/4) represents the Eastern Roman troops from the end of the Western empire to the nomination of Emperor Maurice, who implemented military reforms that significantly changed the army. I bought the figures on eBay and rebased them. #dbmm #15mm #wargaming

For the rule set "Warcry," I briefly left historical wargaming and took a detour into the Games Workshop universe. Here are some of my Slaves to Darkness, painted by myself. #warcry #slavestodarkness #tabletop

1/2 In October 2024, I fought a battle between early Byzantines and Ostrogoths during the time of Justinian using my rule modification "Solo Age of Hannibal." I designed the army lists myself. Each army consisted of 1200 points and was made up of 15mm figures. #ageofhannibal #littlewarstv #wargaming

I have used my 3D printer to create an entire arsenal of siege equipment and painted them accordingly. It includes four ladder elements, two battering rams, three siege towers, and four onagers (catapults). I will be using them with the excellent "Age of Hannibal" ruleset. #ageofhannibal #wargaming

For my late medieval Frankfurt militia in 28mm for Lion Rampant, I designed the flags using Photoshop. They
are based on those depicted in the painting of the Battle of Eschborn (1389). The imperial flag, the city flag,
and some guilds (cobblers and the butchers). #lionrampant #frankfurt #wargaming

My Bronze Age, early Mycenaean DBMM army, whose main troop types are chariots and spearmen. It is almost the complete list (Book I/18). The figures were painted according to my specifications by Paintingservice Fernando. The army consists of 15mm figures by Museum Miniatures. #dbmm #15mm #wargaming
