This graph shows the German share (%) of global GDP from 1900-2000. Hitler's economy of the 1930s was an economic miracle. Germans were winning economically until their defeat in 1942-1945. Bu the rebuilt their country in just 15 years from 1945-1960 (known as the German Economic Miracle).

The relative dominance of Western markets has been in a steady decline since the late 1900s. We used to control over 80-90% of #WorldGDP. Now down to sub-50% of GDP. Mostly due to the rise of China. #China did so at the expense of Japan.

Comparing the start and the finish of World War 2 (1939-1945), the USA nearly doubled its share of global GDP. The effect of WW2 was the economic destruction of Europe, to the benefit of the Americans.
