It feels kind of futile to do seat projections when all our previous assumptions and knowledge about how each seat votes will fly out of the window if this election result happens. Parties will be winning seats on 25% of the vote.

No need to officially rescind the invite, just never proceed with a date. The visit will end up being too much of a headache for the government when it comes anyway.

He was probably told that in private meetings, the problem is Trump isn't a rational actor, and probably decided himself yesterday that he was going to do a 180.
