Sigh. No it isn't. Most cyclists are drivers. Many drivers are cyclists. The reason why cyclists get flak is because you do not routinely see motorists jump red lights, go on pavements, go against the flow of traffic, purposefully cause tailbacks, swerve from side to side etc.

All cyclists should learn that leaving a full car width when overtaking goes both ways and filtering through traffic at a red light, only to have all those cars you passed overtake you 30 seconds later, does not benefit anyone involved in any way.

For insurance purposes a lot of places need a qualified security officer whose job generally consists of:
- sitting down eating biscuits
- if you spot anyone trespassing, call the actual police

It is absolutely no coincidence that as police cars have been replaced by cameras, driving standards have plummeted. Cameras can only detect a fraction of easily avoidable offences on the sections of road they actually monitor. Absolutely pointless.
