I suppose they might be referring to how people in therapy can be resistant to change, and throw up roadblocks that the therapist has to work through.

I presume in his guy friend group he tried out this line and they found it hilarious. So why, he asks, don’t the women? Women have no sense of humor, he decides.

Both, I fear.

I’d be tempted to write, “So hilarious! That’s just what my late husband said!”

Maybe followed by, “Oops, don’t tell anyone I called him ‘late.’ Without a body they don’t declare them dead for 7 years.”

Or…

“So true! The first 2 years were fun for my late hubby. The last 3 days were fun for me.”
