Interesting, but I think you give Johnson too much credit. His professed faith hides the absence of a moral compass and rather than being coerced, he quite willingly hitched his wagon to the star of said con man.

I don’t know it as well as I should. Loved her first album and played the hell out of it, but had moved overseas before this one came out.

In their defense (kind of), I think the they have been left behind. Gingrich killed that clubby agree-to-disagree, “my good friend across the aisle” thing in the ‘90s, and the Rs have been out for blood ever since, but no one told the dems. They aren’t evil or complicit, just pathetic.

Maybe we need another pandemic. 1 million dead, a cratered economy and a botched government overthrow wasn’t enough to dissuade people from voting for him again. Mother Nature needs to lift her game.
