I tried to introduce my kid to games at 5, but he was too young to control them, so he watched me play Astros playroom and Mario Odyssey. We bonded over Mario and when he was 7 he's old enough to play Astrobot and Odyssey by himself. Stick with Mario or something with a story.

People kept raving about this game so I finally played it last year.. And yes it is something special (especially the music!). I just beat XC2 and am going through Future Connected now (XCDE's post game episode); get this game you won't regret it.
