After the final Maths Battle ended and the rewards were handed out, we said goodbye to this academic year and season of Maths Circles. We have achieved so much this year, all of which is thanks to your participation and support. From all at WSP - Thank you so much!

We want to sincerely thank the @uniofstandrews.bsky.social for hosting the first Maths Circle in Scotland! We hope that the Circle will have some more neighbors in the north of the UK later this year!

There was also a guest lecture by one of the greatest Maths Communicators around: @sparksmaths.bsky.social. Thank you so much to Ben and all the participants, we truly hope you enjoyed the event!

On the 5th, we held our first Inter-Circle Maths Battle in the West of England. Hosted by the @bristoluni.bsky.social, students from the Circles at @cardiffuni.bsky.social and @uniofbath.bsky.social battled each other over multiple rounds.

Did you know we opened two new Circles recently? One at the University of Leicester and one at the London School of Economics! They are respectively the most northern Circle (so far) and the 4th university in London to host our programme.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Circle this weekend! The problem set for the majority of Circles was… Tilings! Please don’t forget that you are able to bring your answers to the Olympiad-Style Problems into the next session!

Last week, most Circles received a problem set about the areas of geometric shape! Our students advanced quickly from finding the areas of wonky triangles to whatever you would call the shape below (aside from a bunch of semicircles).
