This is so true. Before Gen AI, there was the concept of the "10x developer" that could write functionality in a very short amount of time that worked, but was not scalable, efficient or worked well with other code.
The delayed nature of this effect can disguise its true source—an apparently successful change now can lay landmines in the codebase that strike someone working in it weeks, months, or years later. This is not new—the danger of tactical coding has been around as long as large-scale software. (3/6)

Unfortunate this guy is so out of his depth... He couldn't answer the question and he falls back on the fact that Canada is so reliant on the USA for trade.. however Mark Carney cannot change geography or 150 years of economic history in a few months.
