With that Schlock and Horror is over. Now next year, I plan on watching 1 movie a day, not just horror, the whole year round. I like doing this but there's a whole bunch of movies of every genre I haven't seen. This is my way of catching up. January I'll begin posting those here too, so stay tuned!

This movie has some really interesting "zombies". They aren't dead, and still react with fear to some things. Just a bunch of pissed off fellas. It did a good job of showcasing what people would be like in a simple and effective way. 9/10

This movie was just SLIGHTLY dumber than I like in a parody, but there were some genuinely funny moments in it. One scene in particular when the villain reveals himself felt way too good to be in this movie. 7/10, but worth a watch

I really enjoyed this movie. It's barely supernatural. It's just about manipulating people into doing terrible things for the sake of small personal gain, leading into a massive riot at the end. It was kind of shot like a comedy for some reason, which made the horrendous stuff even weirder. 9/10

Transferring the "evil" to someone else isn't new to this series, but I do like how open to interpretation they kept it this time. I also like that the last shots in this movie were visual nods to the end of the first movie. I would say I like this the least of the 3, but still good. 7.5/10

A pretty decent sequel focusing on the community banding together to defeat Evil, but with HILARIOUS consequences. Both this and the last movie have a bunch of fun nods to Halloween 3: Season of the Witch, and I appreciate that. 8/10

I'm very cynical about modern remakes. They're very cash grabby and often fail to hit the mark. This movie was very good at being a sequel to Halloween, though. Had a lot of homages and was an interesting take on the series. The ending was kinda silly though. 8/10

I've talked about this movie thrice this year. I don't talk about the music enough though. The main theme is obviously very good, but the music with Laurie walking on the street and when she's getting pursued is really good. Also I think Linda and Bob are genuinely a cute couple. 9/10

This movie doesn't become a horror movie until over an hour in. It's just a normal Tarantino film until then, one where he's not really holding anything back. From feet stuff, to slurs, to excessive violence, this film had it all. I enjoyed it, but man.... 8/10

This movie was really good. The props and costumes were really intriguing and the really went all out for the effects. They had a fight in an actual burning set, the wax statues were melting, they even blew up a massive vat of wax, it was really appealing. 8.5/10

I love stop motion; I've already said this. This movie is weird though. For one thing it has a catfight between Frankenstein's monster's mate and Frankenstein's secretary where they rip off each other's dresses. Just a sample; this movie really goes places. 7/10

Every time I thought the movie wasn't so bad something would happen that would just annoy me. They try to redo a lot of shots from the original, but badly in cg, like they were trying to one up the first movie. Also any time new Freddy tried to do one of his little quips it just did not land. 5/10

Honestly, I really liked it. I'm a sucker for stop motion and practical puppetry, and this movie used both a lot. The way they made the puppets have personality and seem expressive was genuinely impressive, a lot of fun to watch. 8.5/10
