CrossCode is $6 right now, it's an incredible action RPG with a cute cast and some really well done puzzle dungeons and combat.

CrossCode is a really delightful action RPG. Also, try out that team's next game's demo, "Alabaster Dawn" a real refinement of the gameplay of CrossCode but not to be released anytime soon.

I genuinely forgot they were talking about this games writing as some kind of masterpiece. Reminds me of that Ryan Davis comment about Enslaved: Odyssey to the West's GotY-type praise, "It's like they've never seen a video game before and decided 'oh this is the best one'."
