2024 is exactly the kind of year that would take Jimmy Carter from us. At least he won't have to see what comes next. He made the best possible use of the power that comes from being a former President. Other former Presidents could go to school on him. (They have, I know, but alas...)

First thing I remember being wrong about: When a friend asked if I was going to the 5th grade dance, I said with a positive head nod, "I doubt it." (Because I thought "doubt it" meant "pretty sure I will.")
