I am holding my very first proof copy of The Need for Green and I am feeling all the things. Seeing this story in my hands is surreal. This proof still needs a few tweaks and refinements, but that is part of the process and we are getting it there.

This is why I do what I do.
Seeing readers connect with the heart of this story reminds me why telling autistic stories with care and honesty matters. It is not about perfection. It is about helping children feel seen, understood, and accepted exactly as they are.

The proof copy of The Need for Green is officially on its way to me. After months of work I'm finally going to get to hold my first children’s book.

Today I got to sit in the salon and get my hair done and talk to my loctician about my autism and have a whole conversation without feeling judged. Why can't it be like this with everyone?
