I look at this spot nearly every day. A constant that is different every time, today golden and calming, sometimes dark and violent. I come and go, like so many tides and the rock stares back.

In Bali rice permeates the culture on so many levels. You'll see it in the canang, little offerings left by the balinese for their ancestors, or worn on the forehead in ceremonies to symbolise good fortune and prosperity. And if you listen closely you might hear it whispering in the wind.

I'm not suggesting we totter up to perfect strangers in coffee shops and nestle our heads in their lap like this chap just did, but we might learn a thing or two from our furry friends. Writing from Bali ❤️

Hello Blue Sky. I am, blessedly and hopefully will continue to be, writing from Bali. I like dogs, coffee, food and words profound and silly. Here's a shot of the gorgeous Jatiluwih rice terraces, where I was lucky enough to escape the madding crowds recently. Namaste.
