That's such a sick tattoo!! And I love the fur/collar combo setting off what looks like a super low v-neck. 🤭

Yeah, I can see that! They're either trying to be different or trying to emulate something that was already successful. Either way, it usually doesn't pan out too well.

Thanks for sharing! That's really interesting, and I wonder if new research would indicate the same trends today.

All these characters bother me, tbh. The works as a whole are poignant and worth preserving / analyzing. I won't say they're bad quality, but I don't *enjoy* any of them because the bad choices lead to frustrating, entirely avoidable circumstances. Othello gets a little more slack than the others.

That's so funny! I definitely prefer obstacles / external conflict over bad decisions / internal conflict, but I can see how some readers might find it lazy for an author to rely on coincidental roadblocks like that.

Well, that does sound like it would make a good story. 😅 Hope you and the kiddos are safe now.

I realized after leaving my comment that I might be taking the "bad decisions" part too literally, but it's so common to make characters dumb or insufferable for the plot that I stand by what I said lol.

Sorry, are you asking me or agreeing with me? I feel the same way, and that's kind of what I was getting at.

That night elf is about to have the worst time. 😂💕

I even get fed up with younger characters, tbh. 😅 I think a lot of authors forget what it was actually like being a kid and start relying on that emotional immaturity a little too much. Kids and teens can be dumb and reckless, but they usually know they're making bad choices as it's happening.

Plausible and empathetic, I guess. There's a layer of difference between knowing someone might do something in a given situation and really understanding or relating to that choice.

I prefer when characters make good decisions that don't pan out! I don't particularly like when characters are the architect of their own struggle because they make avoidable blunders. It feels better when there are no good choices because the odds are stacked against them. Could just be me, though.

The decisions feel like something a real person would do given the character's emotional state and what we know about their personality / motivations.

Thank you. 🥰

Can someone transcribe the hair message for me? Too smol, gets blurry when zoomed. 😔

NO, the baby is so scared in the second picture. 😭😂💕

I told myself I'd avoid spoilers from now on, but I can't help it this time!! When it comes to sneak peeks of Baxter, I need a full close-up and every angle. 🤩🫶

If you hire me, you can promptly fire me, and the rest will follow!

I will be using you as a reference in my next job hunt, though.
