Medical Thing of the Week: Nurse trying to draw blood totally missed the vein and hit a nerve. I almost fainted from the pain. I asked her to stop and told her that unless she could call someone more skilled we were not doing the blood draw. #medsky #nursing #chronicIllness

The pharmacy apparently ran out of bags. :O This definitely gave me a minute of "oh no, did they mix up my order? And should I have worn gloves to open this?!" when I opened the package.
(that's just generic low dose camrese-lo)

And this right here is one reason anyone who has half a semester of medical school and critical thinking knows you don't let illnesses rage out of control. The more they spread, the more they mutate. They get stronger and smarter and harder to control.

I really love that Target now sells a lot of items for holidays like Hanukkah, Diwali, Lunar New Year and Ramadan. I am however befuddled by their dreidel art kit. Do they not understand dreidels need to spin and fall cleanly on one side? Eh. I painted it anyway. Display dreidel, I guess. #Hanukkah

They do advise about Medigap supplements. But my post to you was just trying to offer a resource my network has found helpful since SHIP isn't always known. If it's not helpful, it's like any other suggestion to take or leave.

#TBT to when some of us kid editors were on @ejeancarroll.bsky.social 's show with Jane Pratt. I was asked what my greatest fear was, and said "flunking out of college." Backstory I didn't share on that answer: a) I'd already Seen Some Shit and didn't scare easily; 1/

I didn't have a chance to post it before, but I loved seeing Hannah Gadsby's show in the absolutely gorgeous United Theatre (United Artists, originally) this week. Also appreciated the theater's strong commitment to disabled accessibility and their friendly and helpful staff. #DTLA

This! Around here, public health agencies and many nonprofits give Narcan free upon request - they hand it out at public events a lot. I keep some in my first aid kit. One never knows when someone might need it ASAP.
