Some day, I will spell "fuchsia" correctly on my first attempt. Honestly, the most rational way to handle this would be to stop using that color in my writing. There are plenty of colors that I consistently spell right. I don't know why I'm obsessed with this one. #writingcommunity #nemesis

People talk about "main character energy," but what about "chaotic neutral energy"? A man used bolt cutters to get through a fence at the Atlanta airport and then wandered around the runway. I don't know what his plan was, but he deserves to be a book character.

Yesterday marked the anniversary of the moon landing. You know why that makes me mad? We stopped. There were supposed to be more landings, a moon base, Mars missions. I was born to see Mars in person, but we stopped! Now, I never will.

So I write sci-fi instead.

A few writing "rules" that suck:

1. Never end a sentence with a preposition. It's a so-called rule I don't agree with.
2. Don't split infinitives. I going to happily split an infinitive whenever I like. Thank you.
3. Never start a sentence with coordinating conjunction. But I do what I want.

I used to love The Jetsons—flying cars, instant food, robot maids (the #AI we need!). Scientists took a step toward a Jetson's future with a robot that performed gallbladder procedure autonomously. Is it too much to hope this tech will serve the people who need it most? #futuretech

I pushed back White Liar's release to August, and one might think that would give me breathing room.

Him: "I thought you were taking the day off."

Me: "This is administrative. I'm organizing."

Him: "You're literally typing."

Me: "Organizational typing. Stop looking at me."

Moved some chapters around in my manuscript to help pacing. I somehow put a scene that was originally before a murder to immediately after the murder. So now, there's a murder cliffhanger, and the next chapter begins with the protagonist being mad about her finances. 🤦🏾‍♀️ #amrevising #writingcommunity

Apparently, killer whales have offered food to humans. Researchers documented 34 instances of wild orcas approaching us with gifts. The whales might be exhibiting reciprocity or trying to learn about us.

They're bound to be disappointed.

Today is Comic Sans Day, and I'm celebrating it.

Comic Sans gets dragged, but it's supposedly more accessible for those with dyslexia. Plus, it has this chaotic, rebellious energy. I'm here for it.

Yes, this post is passive aggressive af. #freedomaintfree #independenceday #comicsansday #resist

"I'm a tea-drinker."

That's what I say, with my nose turned up, when people talk about coffee like it's the only morning drink. I have a cabinet full of loose-leaf tea, and my husband wanted a coffee maker. Six months later, I admit it—I see the appeal.

Happy Monday. #writersky #mondaymotivation

My quantum phone rings. It's me again.

I considered hyphenating "quantum phone" to make this a true Six-Word Saturday, but the Chicago Manual of Style in me refused.

Saturday's here. Ready your weekend shenanigans.

I've been quiet.

Unexpectedly, one of my absolute favorite people, my brother, died a few months ago. I needed time to myself—still do—but I'm ready to restart my sporadic social media posting. (Let's be real: posting regularly was never my thing.) Love and blessings. #writersky #grief"

It's National Barcode Day! Totally didn't know that was a thing, but for real, it should be. Traditional barcodes have been around since 1974, but the real hero is the QR code. I do not miss using a TV remote to enter passwords for streaming services. Ew. #nationalbarcodeday

We are a nonviolent movement. More than 500 grassroots protests so far without one instance of vandalism or destruction of property. This extreme overreach is both a sign that our protests are working and an attempt to scare us into giving up our constitutional rights. We won't be bullied.
