If the Dems had someone in shadow positions for every department it would give them a platform to show how they would tackle each situation differently as a party.

So much of American politics seems to be what individual senators preferences are with no clear party line on the big issues.

In the U.K. the opposition party forms a shadow government with elected members holding the same positions as the party in power (but with no authority).

They put forward a counter argument to the party in power’s position on foreign and domestic policies and gives a direct platform for debate.

I think this man is being fed some bullshit by his team.

It’s the only explanation for this blatant misrepresentation of the truth, they are all afraid to tell him the real numbers.

Personally I’d love to see Pete Buttigieg doing the job (if eligible). He wouldn’t back down and he would tie Mike Johnson in knots.

Would you not like to take over from Schumer or Jeffries (I’m not from US so don’t know if you would be eligible for either).
