It's probably good etiquette to include sources, I agree, but it's always useful to track down your own and read and read and read. And then read some more 😁

I don't think the actual deforestation allows pathogens to mutate, it's by opening up otherwise inaccessible areas there is the risk of release of and exposure to new pathogens that can then spread and mutate. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
