I've found that absent a detailed policy at a school wide level, most of these policies end up falling on the teacher to enforce, which means they don't work. I'm already overburdened with things that have to happen in a period, and phone enforcing happening often means learning isn't.

I was going to ask how in the world I missed your writing on this, then I looked at the publication date. I was in the middle of a job change and a move and a gender identity crisis and covid simultaneously. I don't think I was paying very much attention to the internet.

Emily, in that piece you mention Midsommar as a piece of work you group into "egg cinema". Is there any writing on the trans interpretation of that film you recommend? Your other examples make perfect sense to me, but that one is going over my head.
