In my opinion they made the right decision. Some could argue as I did above it should have been a year ago but we can't change the past. Right now, at this moment this firing is a benefit to the company as a whole, and it shouldn't be. But that is how I feel looking at it.

no matter where he goes will pop up again and again. There's undeniable upside in him, but not nearly enough to be worth the negative, as this run proved. As all of his runs have proved. It's the sad reality of CM Punk, and I believe unchangeable at this point in his 40s.

I expect Punk to go on a hiatus for a few months, but around Rumble time expect to see his name bantered about by every usual source, and the thought there to get him in. Although I feel it will be only a matter of time before the same issues that always follow that man around-

intelligence to at least get the chance to dip his toe in the WWE waters. At the moment they're so successful no 1 person is that necessary no matter how great they may be, but in the ego driven world of wrestling will they be able to resist yet another chance to outmanuever AEW?

Finally, where does Punk go? What we've heard to this point is WWE doesn't want any part of him, but in wrestling of all places there's no such thing as "forever". You have to think Punk already had this outcome as a possibility in mind when he visited Raw months ago, showing his

Despite their tone they will take burying the company, I'm certain nobody is happier than those who have crafted a brand around bashing AEW & defending Punk as this whole saga & now firing has given them ammo for months, if not infinitely, even though a lot was his fault, truly.

I said it on the last episode, but the ultimate blame has to lay at the feet of Tony Khan for not definitively putting everyone in their place before All Out LAST year. I highly doubt he's a Wrestle Update listener, but it appears he himself came to the conclusions I did.

The truth is there's plenty of blame to go around. Obviously it's hard to ignore the fact of just how frequent things hit the fan around Punk with him in the middle of it so often, but it's also hard to argue that he wasn't pushed at times, specifically by Jack Perry at All In.

There's always something else though and on some level it's disappointing that they couldn't have come together and used the passionate (and sometimes dangerously passionate) fan base for the sides of the Elite & Punk into something productive & an epic money making angle on TV.

But it does feel like a dark cloud was lifted from the company & they can put an end to the separate locker rooms & the tension that was clearly coming to a boiling point, even spilling out amongst their own fans and perhaps this is a second chance for there to be less toxicity.

Only Khan knows the large amount of money Collision brought into AEW & how integral Punk was to getting it. If it was $50 Million as was reported then it really was worth it despite all of the massive repeated headaches his presence, and actions brought to AEW & the locker room.

Analysis: A stunning move given all the leeway Punk has been given to this point. This wrecks the entirety of Collision & their plans for the real world title. If reports are true about how much stock the network put into him, the whole show has to be in question going forward.
