I write all this to say my advice is it can be a very long, scary, and expensive treatment and my advice is to listen to whatever the doctors say and keep your dog hospitalized as long as needed. I am so so sorry this happened to your dog, I read this just as I was giving Ruby her immunosuppressants for the night -she came home and is recovering now but it took 8 days in the ER, 4 blood transfusions, an IV infusion and we go back weekly for new bloodwork. Her red blood cells (1/2)
