It sucks that guys get so caught up in fighting for status among men that they can’t even admit a woman is hot because she isn’t the “male-culture approved” kind of hot.

My own anecdotal experience is that if you can make a woman laugh, feel valued, and also make feel like her concerns are actually being listened to and (when requested) addressed, the female gaze when it comes to physicality is... forgiving.
This isn’t the female gaze. This is the male gaze. It’s men who are obsessed with the physicality of other men. Women, in the main, would much rather see a man who looks like he’d make himself a stack of buttered toast and let you steal a slice
