Located in Monroe County, Indiana; we strive to reduce the amount of material going to final disposal. We provide recycling drop-off facilities, reuse options, household hazardous waste drop-off, and environmental education programs.
Due to extreme weather, the Waste Reduction District will be CLOSED MONDAY, JAN 26TH.

All locations of the Waste Reduction District will be closed Monday January 19th in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Visit wastereductiondistrict.com/calendar for holiday obbservances. Also, last day to bring your natural holiday tree to the District is January 17th.

Still haven't taken the holiday tree down? Deadline to bring natural, naked holiday trees and wreaths to any of the 5 District recycling centers is January 17th. Holiday trees accepted during normal operating hours.

Need to get rid of some boxes after the holidays? Keep a stash for yourself and your cats but then drop off the rest at the South Walnut Recycling Center for reuse. You can recycle boxes at all sites but there is resuable box bin at South Walnut. www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=...

When it's time take down the holiday tree, bring it to the Waste Reduction District's recycling centers during normal operating hours. We'll take naked, natural trees and wreaths. Remove all ornaments!

To wrap or not to wrap--is it a question?! Use a gift bag or hide the gift in another gift. Tissue paper and most wrapping paper, except foil wrap, can be recycled, but why waste? Use a reusable and/or recyclable bag.

Need cardboard boxes? We have them at South Walnut-- all different sizes, free for pickup. Cardboard boxes can be dropped off and put in the compactor with the other cardboard or placed in the free box bin. Check it out!
