It created a huge panics among my friends who are on H1B. No matter what the implementation details would be, it already created uncertainties and fears for many of the talented engineers and scientists, who once had plan to work in US

I think it’s not the end of CS, it’s switching from software development style CS to AI. But AI is different as it is hard to find a way to develop standard tutorials like software dev or data analysis. And those needs of GPUs could be hurdles for general ppl to learn AI

I feel so sad as a Chinese student. Many Chinese scholars have been contributing to US for decades and many decide to stay in US to work for the country they love. I’m sure this statement will make many Chinese scholars back to China and contribute to China’s science and economy instead of US
