Regarding Venezuela, only change is Maduro is no longer able to perform his duties as President. Who is in charge? Supposedly the Vice President who is reportedly in Russia. So who is the US negotiating with and the demands?

I think the WNBA is doomed. The players will expect too much, the owners have too little to offer because they gave away their best revenue for too long and too little - TV contract!

Democrats (Governors and Mayors) are losing the Crime narrative by using terms like Resist. All communities could use additional resources to fight crime. The National Guard is more costly and less effective than other Federal capabilities. Plus, it is unconstitutional to activate them in States.

Near Tampa, imagine if that was your only choice. If you were disabled, how expensive it would be to get to appointments or do things without the ability to drive. Don't let the allure of minuscule tax savings make others life harder! And this will be all of FL

Everyone seems to have moved on from the real story, Putin and Trump talked for 2+ hours and seemingly discussed nothing but Trump changed his tune. I bet Trump was offered a trade deal that gives us the mineral rights he's been after and more!

Screwups happen but there needs to be accountability, covering up by lying is criminal. www.npr.org/2025/08/07/n...
Federal records contradict what FEMA leader told Congress about Texas flood response
Funding for FEMA's disaster survivor hotline lapsed the day after the Texas floods, federal records show. It took DHS Secretary Kristi Noem five days to approve more money.

This is a conservative sheriff punching the Trump administration for poaching crime fighting personnel to round up immigrants.
"We're their force multipliers, and this is the thanks we get for helping them do their job?" Sheriff Grady Judd of Polk County, Florida, said of a recruitment email sent by ICE's deputy director to hundreds of his deputies. https://on.nbcboston.com/hf49Mi7
ICE efforts to poach local officers are angering some local law enforcement leaders
An email sent to officers whose agencies partner with ICE has even some sheriffs who support the Trump administration and its immigration crackdown seeing red.

Trumps tariff letters are so obvious. Due to the lack of new trade deals, peace deals, he needs to up his great negotiator image. You can't claim fake wins without instigating the battles!

I'd offer that the strike on Iran was the easiest decision ever. The primary reason that it hadn't happened before was the resulting regional conflict from Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, Iraq and Yemen. With those greatly reduced or eliminated, too easy!

Court blocking reciprocal tariffs is a gift to Trump. The economic disaster that was derailing his term and affecting the midterms will be a blip now except the next jolt when the Supreme Court will put them back in play. They let overreach play out until it gets through regular appeals process.

It's pretty clear that Trumps view on tariffs has changed. Revenue and equity have been superceded by recession and midterms; hence, his constant delay.

Made it to around 25 laps watching Indy 500. Always frustrating to watch, too many cautions early on. Was interesting to watch one take themselves out before the race began.

This should be bigger news. The ramifications in trying to get vaccinated for under 65. Will our health plans now require painful costly process to be deemed high risk? Already bad enough that the vaccine wanes quickly so playing roulette for 1/2 year. Guess we are going F around and find out!
The Food and Drug Administration has issued a long-awaited approval of Novavax’s COVID-19 vaccine but with unusual restrictions.

Novavax makes the nation’s only traditional protein-based coronavirus vaccine – and until now it had emergency authorization from FDA for use in anyone 12 and older.

Everyone is still missing the greatest problem with the Qatar 747. The original Air Force One replacement contract in 2018 was for retrofitting existing 747-8i. So retrofitting a 747-800 now will not change cost or schedule.
May 18, 2025 at 1:09 PM
We're missing the biggest issue with the Qatar 747 gift, already have enough Air Force Ones, buying two new ones. How much will it save taxpayers to retrofit and retire to a presidential library, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and cost 100's of millions. Free isn't always smart!

Looks like Saudi Arabia is using the same playbook for oil as in the first Trump administration, try to hamper shale oil by allowing prices to be lower despite the negative $$$ consequences but improve their other needs!

Not sure I understand the stock markets reaction to GDP and PCE. Clearly the US economy is at a precipice and the numbers don't show that anything good is coming. I guess we'll see a reaction when employment numbers sour or is it optimism that the fed will cut rates.
