I have often felt that setting some kinds of limits somehow makes me become more creative and gives me a deeper appreciation for what I (or all of us) can do within those limits.
And it of course feels good to be able to succeed despite limitations.

Suomalaisille varsinkin, kirjasta löytyy myös runsaasti käännetty versio ainakin pääkaupunkiseudulla, varmaan muissakin kirjastoissa! Ja myös enkkuks toki. Julkaistu jo 2018, mutta muuttuu vaan tärkeimmäksi ja tärkeimmäks.

Even if the video above is 2 years old, the importance of its message has only increased and I recommend both of their work to anybody.
From the perspective of my own work I especially loved one of the things Kate says when asked to describe how a "Doughnut Economic" world might look in 50 years:

From bsky, as an artist, I hope for meaningful interaction. For discussions about what craft can mean for a world embroiled in fundamental changes, how it might help to see and interpret the world and find contentment and ones own place and happiness within planetary boundaries.

Recently I have shifted my focus to ancient textile and basketry techniques, taking ways that humans (and some non-humans) have twisted and looped and interlaced natural materials for thousands of years, and applying them to this very modern, ubiquitous and controversial material.

I started out a little over 10 years ago, and have since then worked with plastic bags. For a decade I have worked on them with self-developed techniques, using a flat and a soldering iron to transform them in such a way as for them to become quite unrecognizable as plastic bags.
