Been extremely obsessed over Vanny and Vanny TFs recently!
Just something about being permanently stuck looking like this is extremely hot...
Sadly a subject that is almost never used in TFs, so I made a point of remedying that fact!

Here's one fore ya...but I got others. 😉

18. Shadow Of The Colossus
I remember when a friend came around and showed me this game that he'd just picked up.
I was surprised when I realised that the game only seemed to have bosses, and exploring made the world feel so haunting.
I instantly went into town to get my own copy of the game.

17. Thomas Was Alone
Proof, if it were ever needed, that you can make people care about characters that are literally just coloured blocks.
All you've got to do is have some really good writing, some smart puzzle design that enforces the narrative, and a narrator with a charming voice.

16. Hollow Knight
Took me a while to properly 'get' Hollow Knight.
Several false starts.
Once I finally cracked it, I started looking at this game on a deeper level and it absolutely got it claws into me.
Don't be put off by the difficulty, this is a game that's worth your time!

15. The Metro Trilogy
Bit of a cheat, but I love the whole series and can't pick a favourite.
If you've never played these games, I'd highly recommend them! Great story and a wonderfully realised world/setting in the Post-Apocalyptic Metro System.

14. Fallout 3 AND Fallout: New Vegas
Yep, both!
Because they're so similar they're practically the same game. (and can be with Tale Of Two Wastelands!)
No doubt that both of these games helped me to get a handle on open-world games, as well as introducing me to the Fallout series which I love!

From what I've read, you're going to be able to augment yourself with alien DNA in Subnautica 2! :3

13. Subnautica
I hold this game up as the example to follow if you want to make a survival-crafting game that has a focussed narrative. The world is wonderfully designed, the story intriguing and helps to drive you forward, and it's got just that little hint of horror just for an added touch of fun.

12. Signalis
Back to the horror train again, this one is...
Well, the best way I can describe it is to say that it really, and I mean REALLY, stuck with my after I'd finished it.
There's just something about it that got under my skin, and I still think about it now and then, even today.

11. Mass Effect 2
I mean, do I really need to explain this one?
Really counting the whole series here, but the 2nd one is my favourite. The writing is just amazing with some of the best characters ever put in a video game!
Tali all the way!

10. Space Station Silicon Valley
Classic game from the n64 that I kinda picked up randomly.
I was originally going to get another game that I'd rented a few times and had already completed, and my dad suggested getting something I else for a change.
Got this game and loved it!
REMAKE IT!

9. INFRA
Bit of a random one here, but I played this game earlier this and totally fell in love with it. As you can probably tell I'm a fan of exploration and puzzle solving, and this game is full of both, especially exploration. It's basically an urbex game, and a genre I now love!

8. Penumbra
If RE2 got me into Horror and PZ2 gave me my first real chill, then Penumbra was the first game to truly get under my skin and and legit scare me!
Not only that, but the tech demo for the game was the game that started me down to the road of PC gaming, so that's fun!

7. Project Zero 2
Whilst RE2 ignited my love of the horror genre, I was never really scared of the Resi games.
They were just fun.
Project Zero 2 was the first game to ever really give me a genuine chill!
Won't spoil it, but there's several really good scene in the game that are well set up.

6. Final Fantasy 9
My favourite of all the Final Fantasy games, I really feel that this one got everything pretty much perfect.
The characters, story, battle/leveling system, music...
Yeah, this whole thing is just amazing.

5. Sonic The Hedgehog (Sega Master System)
Guess I can't have a list of games I love without including the very first Video Game I ever played.
I still remember the first time I ever booted up this game; it was Christmas Day and this was a present.
Fair to say it changed my life...

4. Grandia
Classic JRPG from back in the Playstation era, this is easily my favourite JRPG of all time!
Great story and character, battle system that actually tried something new, and some wonderfully cheesy voice acting.
If you've never played, I'd highly recommend giving it a go!
October 22, 2024 at 1:21 PM
3. Resident Evil 2
Technically lumping the whole Franchise in here, but RE2 is easily my favourite. Can't even tell you how many times I've play this game over the years. Totally responsible for my love of Horror games today. Remake is really good too!

2. Outer Wilds
Without a doubt, one of the greatest games ever made, and likely would have taken the #1 spot for me if not for Prime having the nostalgia factor.
If you haven't played this game, I will always recommend it for those who like puzzles, exploration and a strong narrative.

1. Metroid Prime
Might as well start with my favourite game of all time!
The sense of wonder and exploration back when I first played this was amazing, and while I would never say it's a perfect game, it holds a lot of meaning to me as one of the first games that really got to me emotionally.
October 22, 2024 at 12:57 PM
I may regret this, but sure why not...
