A late-spring frost cut Turkey’s apricot output from 750,000 tons to 10,000 this year.

Many other crops were damaged, deepening pressure on global and domestic food prices, which were already rising at a record rate in Turkey.

6.2 earthquake and aftershocks hit Istanbul today.

Luckily there doesn't seem to be much physical damage. But the issue of lack of safe gathering spaces in the wake of "urban development" is starkly clear.
