I keep seeing these @ourworldindata.org posts with weird, convoluted visualizations or phrasing.

Researcher: "Please tell me whether you think homosexuality can always be justified, never be justified, or something in between."
Interviewed: "4"

I assume I know what they mean, but wtf.
Hostility toward homosexuality remains common in many of the world’s largest countries—

This chart shows the share of people who say homosexuality cannot be justified across five of the world’s most populous countries.

Together, these countries are home to nearly half of the global population.

#computer vision #ai #insect #pollinators #vectors A wonderful MC and WG meeting with the InsectAIers at a beautiful venue in Albania. Demonstrations of newly developed camera traps for pollinators but also vectors. Fruitful discussions and new ideas! Many thanks to our host Anila Paparisto!

Here is my best guidance for action, rendered beautifully by the great John Lithgow. I first published these lessons more than eight years ago, in late 2016. They open the twenty chapters of "On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century."
