day 27: stickers on a disused old timey police call point thing in new york.

day 26: one of my favourite photos out of this whole pile, atm at a food place somewhere in the east village.
March 19, 2024 at 12:58 PM
day 25: sooner or later everything in new orleans gets covered in beads. the link between beads and mardi gras (and then the city in general) dates back to the late 1800s, and today 25 million pounds of plastic crap gets thrown.

day 24: molly's at the market. a 24 hour place on lower decatur in the french quarter, this photo was taken on a crushingly humid summer day.
"how do you cope with the heat?"
"we leave, if we can. otherwise, lots of water."

day 23: the toilet at barcade, in manhattan's east village. channeling the heavily graffitied energy of the infamous toilet throne at cbgb, albeit a lot more sanitary.

day 22: somewhere along the yamanote line, looking south towards shibuya, night time in february.

louisiana purchase really minimises what france actually sold. $15m ($409m in today's money) bought a third of a continent. a continent french had no right to. the purchase extended far beyond modern louisiana and was basically first dibs on colonising the indigenous people of the american interior.
March 5, 2024 at 6:52 PM
day 21: the decorations on a french quarter balcony. people in new orleans really know how to commit to an aesthetic. most buildings in the quarter date to spanish rule in the 18 century, or the early 19th century after being bought by the us. wild that france could sell so much land they didn't own

the worms have been superceded, rendered obsolete by a new breed

mere moments before he pounces at himself on the selfie cam

what stickers does everyone have on their devices? and what do they say about you? show me yours!

day 20: balconies of a residential building near shibuya, cast into a lovely colour by a late winter's afternoon light
March 2, 2024 at 9:32 PM
day 19: a quiet back street in the trendy arts/warehouse district of new orleans. not a million miles from day 5's photo.

the world is bleak and sad and i hate it. Wouldn't we all be happier cumming in or on me?
February 26, 2024 at 9:42 PM
day 18: some lovely graffiti, in new orleans.

day 17: a binocular viewer on the banks of the mississippi, looking out towards algiers point. algiers sits on the confusingly named west bank of the river, despite being southeast of the city. this is because directions in new orleans are very silly, and north, south, east and west are alien terms.
February 24, 2024 at 7:50 PM
and i still haven't forgiven them for not letting femshep and tali hook up.
February 23, 2024 at 10:41 PM
day 16: a very much defunct atm outside iggy's keltic lounge, a bar in manhattan's lower east side about which there is very little to say other than it exists. two tags give opposing advice: stay human nyc, and staycat.
February 23, 2024 at 1:42 PM
day 15: a street artist plying his trade near jackson square, new orleans. fun fact - the square is named after historical bastard and mass killer andrew jackson.
February 21, 2024 at 8:34 PM
day 14: armory racks at an airsoft supply shop, nakano broadway. airsoft seems quite popular in japan? nakano broadway is a cluttered maze of corridors, packed with niche nerdy stored and remarkably high end watch shops
February 19, 2024 at 10:00 PM
day 13: a model boat at the museum of the american gangster, new york. the amanda transport was a schooner which seems to have eventually run aground somewhere on the east coast of canada? i think it may have been a rum runner, at some point?
February 17, 2024 at 6:32 PM
day 12: of the 300 or so photos i've kept, this is one of my favourites. taken somewhere in rural japan, i don't recall exactly where, i just love the lone figure walking against the white canvas. he's like a little lowry figure, but all alone.
February 16, 2024 at 6:53 PM
day 11: all my love. written on the floor with little lamps, shot in the ceiling mirrors at umeda sky tower, osaka. honestly, umeda sky tower was probably my least favorite viewing deck in japan. the windows were angled to maximise reflections and it was more focused on events inside than the view
