Sherry Turkle's book "Simulation and its Discontents" is a good longitudinal study of what changed (good and bad) as several professions adopted faith-based computing.

It's easy to mock that article, but for most people who don't habitually decap their chips, computers are indeed unknowably-complex black boxes that must be taken on faith, and for a generation who grew up with transparent, fully-understandable tools, that was a great loss. I'm very sympathetic.

Nice ones can be reused for projects. We made a board game for a friend's wedding, packaged in a former iPad box.

Toby had started on a 2D version of a similar idea, a while back. Sketch a CAD drawing on paper, draw constraint annotations, it reprints the drawing with constraints applied, repeat. dynamicland.org/archive/2015...
