Just realized a little bit ago that none of the eight Democrats are up for reelection in 2026 or are retiring.

I think that these 8 Senators are falling on the sword for Schumer and other Senators who wanted the shutdown to end. This allows the majority of Senators to save face; and only retiring or not up for reelection Senators take the heat.

It’s a ruse.

That @kaine.senate.gov thinks this is a “win” is why he, Schumer, et. al should be primaried right out of office. This never-ending capitulation is exhausting.

Democrats keep failing to understand the absolute sociopathy of the Republicans. They are a party of malignant narcissists who lie, ignore the law and rules, and are incapable of empathy. Their word means nothing. They do not care who lives or dies as long as they prevail.

Everybody will get to see who’s standing for them? I thought that’s what THIS was!
