Y2 D1: Happy New Years! At the close of the year, we've started yet another new job, once again on the government side of the line, GMing 3 D&D 5e games, playing in a 4th, and still very deep into Magic the Gathering. In the new year, we're hoping to make 2025 the year of reading and writing too!

Y2 D1: Happy New Years! At the close of the year, we've started yet another new job, once again on the government side of the line, GMing 3 D&D 5e games, playing in a 4th, and still very deep into Magic the Gathering. In the new year, we're hoping to make 2025 the year of reading and writing too!
The win condition is to use cards like New Perspectives and fodder for our commander like Marauding Brinefang to discover into big permanent value (everything but Sea Gate Restoration is a permanent with 3 CMC or greater) to win with a Laboratory Maniac effect. However, this feels like solitaire...

Day 55: Hard to feel good when the news you expect, for good or for ill, doesn't come in at all. We also have a list together for Ellie and Alan and Keruga, but this one I feel less confident about than many of our other lists, and I'm not sure it will ever be sleeved up...

Day 54: Sometimes you lose no matter what you prepare to bring. Bad luck with both motions today and later, surprise discovery causing a reset which chained into an unhappy client. Hoping for better luck tomorrow, and we at least survived for another day.

Day 53: Sunday spent almost entirely on catching up with work for the week ahead. Feeling frail and like the candle is burning at both ends, leaving little but smoke and ash. Not a great start to a week that's not yet even begun.

Day 52: We saw off many of our visiting players this morning, and spent the rest of the day on preparing for family coming in to visit for the holiday, hosting Thanksgiving, and then visiting friends for a housewarming/friendsgiving event. A good weekend so far, and Sunday to go.

Day 51: Two years, 45 sessions, 3 plane tickets, and 9 hours later, the Elden Ring Game closes the book on the 2nd demigod boss fight, taking revenge against Mohg’s massacre of the PC Ancestral Follower’s family, but losing that PC in the process. Revify didn’t work, so now…?

Day 49: Preparing for the 44th session of our Elden Ring inspired D&D campaign. The session will be our first in person game after 2 years of playing, with our players flying in from all over the county, for PC's ultimate boss fight against Mohg, Lord of Blood! Suggestions?

Day 48: The line is cast out over the sea, and now we'll wait to see what we might reel in. Long day and thankful for the opportunity to explore a new road. Returning to a potential creative project, we've started a deck for Ellie and Alan, Paleontologists with Keruga Companion.

Day 45: Hard to stay positive today, but 8 hours of D&D in the evening with good friends helps. Had a battle in a Japanese castle built out between two factions of vampires, and the party briefly befriended one side’s champion before great hi-jinx led to total victory. Artist Unknown.

Day 40: Happy Veteran's Day. Spent the day preparing for our Elden Ring D&D game (which just so happens to be composed of all active duty or former service men and women players). The highlight of this session was the nightmare/dream sequences which revealed our cleric is a Twin!

I'm not much of an aggressive player, and Glenn, the Voice of Calm being Azorius makes him unusual for an aggressive strategy. However, card advantage attached to Skulk made me want to explore combat tricks! The list is also quite budget at $129.94 and with no cards above $5.

Day 39: Finally had some bandwidth for creative outlets this weekend, and we're putting the next deck up for 1 Plane / 1 Commander... kindof. We're counting each Universes Beyond grouping as their own plane, and so our deck today centers around the Walking Dead's Glenn! See List!

Day 36: You win some, you lose some. In the evening I went to play Commander at a friend’s place. 0 for 3 and first removed in two of them, but Phenax milled out the main threat in game 2. Shame how casually I was eliminated by Ral’s passive in game 3 though…

Day 34: Please remember to be kind to each other and to be kind to yourself. It is okay to be overwhelmed. Once you have done what you can, you are allowed to be exhausted. Rest, and give yourself the recovery you need. You'll do it again tomorrow, maybe even a little bit better.
