Less than two days away from the start of PAX Unplugged 2025. I'm super stoked! I'll be running some D&D games as part of RPG Free Play on Friday and Saturday, which I've been preparing and play testing for weeks. Hopefully, they go well. :)

The four of us saw the dress rehearsal for Livingston High School's production of The Drowsy Chaperone tonight and loved the show. I was the only one who had heard of the show, but I didn't have much context around it going into the performance.

The 2024 Player's Handbook and Dungeon Master's Guides are absolutely beautiful books, and the layout and organization of the two far surpasses their counterparts from past editions. From that perspective at least, WotC's new approach is great. I'm curious to see what the Monster Manual looks like.

I'm curious what people's experiences have been with the 2024 rules thus far, from both player and DM perspectives.

Disney's Wish isn't a bad movie, but it fails to do anything new or inspiring. The villain's motivations feel forced, most of the songs are bad (worse than Frozen 2 which was a disappointment), and the filmmakers seemed more concerned with callbacks to the past than creating something new.

I love a lot of Matt Colville's work, but I'm not yet convinced on his new RPG, which seems to be extremely focused on combat and not focused on exploration whatsoever with only a little bit of social. I hope it does well and will probably still back it to support MCDM, but I'm not sure it's for me.

Alchemy RPG btw is a great platform definitely worth checking out, especially if your group is really into immersive "theater of the mind" type play, and the team's hard at work building out more tactical grid functionality. Lots of great content creators on board as well! Give the platform a try!

Will the Maps feature on D&D Beyond be a viable alternative to Roll20 anytime soon? Integration with the content you've already purchased on D&D Beyond is nice, but the functionality isn't yet even where Alchemy RPG was a year ago. I hope to see some bigger leaps in progress in the next few months.
