Luc Thériault Montcalm, QC Mr. Speaker, federal pharmacare is not necessarily just around the corner. Bill C-64 talks about a principle “to consider when working towards the implementation of national universal pharmacare”. In other words, it is basically just another election promise. Frankly, the NDP got bought off cheap. If, after discussing a principle to consider when when working towards implementation, Ottawa actually were to someday end up with pharmacare, which Quebec already has, will Quebec be able to opt out with full compensation?

China threatens to ask Argentina to pay its $5 billion debt and to reduce its imports following reports of a secret meeting the US stooge and far right foreign minister Diana Mondino had with a representative of Taiwan on December 26. China had already suspended a $6.5 billion currency swap deal that was a crucial source of dollars for Argentina. Infobae reported that China is waiting for "a clear gesture of goodwill or friendship" from Argentina to resume the swap but that hasn’t happened. According to LPO China would be accelerating the procedure to get a $5 billion payment + interests from Argentina related to the previous part of the swap deal. China would also be threatening to prioritise its imports of soybean and corn from Brazil and meat from other countries.
