That said, the 2 hours other than having a significant portion on the French and Indian War did not imho improve upon Liberty! (episode 1). I will not be replacing that video with Burns's episode 1. And that is a damning with faint praise that I am sure that Burns, et. al. don't want to hear. 2/2

I think the series is really focused on the war. In other words, all the episodes that follow. This is the lecture that teachers who teach say America in the 1960s give about the 1950s. Yes, make it as good as possible but it is just to set up what follows.

I would play a pro-Trump song if it was representative of the times. But it’s not. More representative would be a snippet of a podcast or twitter posts, etc both for and against MAGA and “liberals” or the “left” or the comments under a Trump FB post. Sad.

The Prize volume 4: Oil and War has a great episode on WWII. There is nudity (soldiers in Mediterranean unloading oil) about 27 minutes in that I turn off the screen for about 30 seconds for.

Yep. Up to last year,I used to do have students do about 15 pieces of writing. All of them could be finished outside of school.
But now I have students do all of them from start to “finish” in school and am thus often grading unfinished work.
